Boot to the Head

Today I went to Walmart and bought some stuff. Then I went to Ted's to eat orange rolls. Then I went home to write a blog. In the 7 minutes Troy was helping me carry my groceries up to my apartment, the parking enforcement managed to come by and put a tire-boot on his car. The guy was still there right after reporting it, and was "nice" enough to let him off with half the boot price ($25). There's the university parking enforcement for you - punishing chivalrous acts since before it was profitable.

Babies babies babies!

This is dedicated mostly to Mike and Kirsa, who are excitedly expecting their first child. Also to Nate and Kris who are also expecting but I'm pretty sure don't read my blog. And to Stephanie from work who I know doesn't read my blog. And to Ted and Dantzel who have made at least 3 babies on my "Rub Rabbits" game, and around whom the subject seems to come up a lot for some reason. And to everyone else out there expecting, or who just likes babies in general, or at least songs about babies.

(Who coined that "babies babies babies" line? I want to say Jill but I know she doesn't keep up with blogs anymore. Anyway...)

Um Jammer Lammy - Baby Baby!! -- Bringing us back to the excellent Um Jammer Lammy soundtrack. Lammy's radical take on babysitting is probably not the ideal way to put a child to sleep. This originally wasn't my favorite level, but the song was fun enough that I kept going back for repeat plays. Will be sure to give your child an intense sense of rock.

Um Jammer Lammy - Parappa - Baby Baby!! -- Parappa's mellower version is certainly awesome, but probably still not the ideal sleep tool. But it will undoubtedly give your child an excellent sense of groove. Which will you pick to encourage - rock or groove? Bass or flow? Science or art?! I bet parenting is hard.

Tenchi Muyo - Washu's Lullaby -- I'm not well schooled on the Tenchi Muyo series and it's various storylines and universes, so I'm not really sure what plot points this song is connected to. I'm not even sure where I originally got this song, but it's a good bit of music that's relevant to the topic. This is the english dub version of the song.

Arthur - Crazy Bus! -- I've included this "absolutely bus-a-looey" song because I thought it might be useful as a training tool. Listen to this song on loop for several hours, and try to lengthen your tolerance level over time. But don't pull a Francine and bottle all your anger and resentment inside - we all know that like a soda, the pressure will eventually build up until your head pops off.

Zorak's Nugget of Joy - Babies -- A cautionary bit of advice from everyone's favorite praying mantis thing. Not actually a song.

We Love Katamari - Baby Universe -- (lyrics) This came up when I searched my computer for "baby." Like all katamari songs, it ultimately manages to be about so much and so little at the same time. Let's pretend that one of those things it's about is actual babies. At the very least, it sounds like the kind of songs babies might like to listen to.

Wow, I had a lot more babies songs than I expected. Congrats again to everyone ever who's in the middle of, will eventual, or previously has ever had a baby. I can't offer much advice beyond these random songs since I've never been a parent, but if there's one thing I urge you all to remember, it the old saying, "Flat tire is no problem because it's only flat on the bottom."

I'm a bit disappointed. I knew two of these songs, whereas usually when you post these things, I've never heard of any of them.

Crazy Bus is quite possibly the most awesomest song in the world. Seriously. Man, I loved that show.

Think of it this way - usually I post 2 songs and you don't know either of them. This week, you didn't know FOUR of the songs. Therefore this blog is TWICE as awesome as usual.

I think it was Candance that coined that line. *shrug* dunno.
