I'm still recovering from being sick. Like waking up with a sore throat and being ever so slightly still congested. It's been 9 days! I'd better wake up the picture of health tomorrow. That's why I'm going to bed in 15 minutes. I'm attempting to blog speedy-like.
Today in class I realized that most people are still afraid of the internet as a social tool. I'm... flabbergasted. If this is the digital era, then why does admitting to a college class of my peers that I have a LiveJournal account make me feel like a NERD? It doesn't help that most of the "meeting people online and not having real friends is weird" opinions were from girls. Oh, the laments I have about my peers, and about my very gender. The weight of this world's biases and stereotypes is heavy. Oh gods of digital promise - of future promise - take me to your utopia where all are equal, none are judged, and broadband is free. And everyone has a personal jetpack.

Monty Python-Galaxy Song --During my short despair for the human race today I listened to this song, as I often do. Perspective is good for you. As a side note, taking an astronomy class really gives you some respect for the scale of this stuff. The universe is terrifyingly awe inspiring. You know how sometimes you see a picture of a spider or bee and you know it's not a real bee but it skill kinda freaks you out? This x-ray vision of a black hole does that to me.
